Been busy with this little red press of mine....I tried printing the cars in one colour and all at same time remember? but it was quite impossible and I really tried - for hours.....
So I didn't become annoyed just determined to work it out and tried to do a multi colour print instead as I hadn't done one before and as long as your registration is spot on - it works well!
Here I've just one colour to go...
I printed that many I don't know how cost effective it will be when I try and sell them but at this stage I'm still learning so it's well worth it....
I picked up a great tip regarding registration when taking part in a screenprinting course at The Bluecoat last year and use the same principle on my press:
- attach a piece of acetate to the side of the platen - I use masking tape
- take one print onto the acetate
- line up your card underneath the acetate and attach the card in place with tape
- move the acetate out of the way but keep attached
- take a print and check registration
- if its okay then now is the time to attach whatever you use to hold your cards in place - gauge pins, gripper arm etc I use pieces of card or paper as I don't have these :-( but it works fine for me..
- Then print away!
I might take a picture of each step and add later....
